All my visits bear the same hallmark: Dr. Twombly is very courteous, explains in great detail the situation, with sound recommendations. His spinal and neck adjustments are gentle, I don’t feel any pain during- or after- the adjustment. At the last visit, after the massage therapy he performed yet another adjustment, with (IMHO) better result – my back muscles were really tight before the massage. I feel that, for Dr. Twombly, a patient is a human being, not a consumer (or a statistic).
On a couple of occasions I was treated by Dr. Erickson. He, too, was very nice, did an awesome job at relieving the pain I had in my right shoulder, and had the same caring attitude you would expect from a doctor.
Massage therapy:
This time, the massage was performed by Danny, a very gentle big fellow! There are two other massage therapists in this clinic, and you cannot go wrong with either one of them. The therapists will adjust the massage pressures to match the patient’s needs; if the patient mentions the pressure is too high or too low, they will change it accordingly. The patient will just need to let them know what (s)he wants. The technique they employ is called “deep-tissue massage”.
Last (but not least) is the good-natured, front-desk receptionist, Victor. He is super nice – he welcomes you with a smile and a friendly attitude whenever you walk through the door.
A potential customer can easily find an appointment time that fits his/her schedule, including Saturdays. As an add-on, the clinic routinely offers discount vouchers on Yelp.com. The wait time is around 0 – 10 min (my experience). While waiting, you can educate yourself by using the lighted anatomical charts (hung on the wall in the waiting room), that show the connection between different nerves, vertebrae, and organs at the press of a button. Very informative!
I have one suggestion for improvement: to consider additional massage techniques, like traditional Asian (eg. Shiatzu, acupressure), trigger points, and reflexology.

I went in for a free consult, which I would recommend every do if they want to get honest feedback on best options for your condition. Dr. Twombly was great, he was invested in finding the best treatment for my condition (herniated disc, lower back) even if that meant paying for surgery elsewhere.

I had neck pain for a few days after sleeping on my pillow wrong. A little voice told me to go in right away, but I ignored it. After three days of pain, I finally went in, and boy, am I glad I did! Dr. Erickson gave me an adjustment and Daniel found my tight muscles in therapy. (By the way, my family physician referred me here years ago, much to my surprise. My father had always been most skeptical of chiropractors, so i was hesitant to go that route after a work injury. When my doctor sent me here, I wished I had used chiropractic instead of the physical therapy I got through my workers comp injury.). I have been and remain a loyal patient ever since.

Before treatment in your office I had “difficulty walking bending stooping or sitting (including working at the computer) and difficulty sleeping because of the pain. I had injections and many other physical therapy treatments but nothing seemed to work. Sometimes my husband had to help me just to get up the steps. I lived in fear of being permanently disabled because none of the expensive treatments that I had received had worked for me. As a result of the life change that I experienced from chronic pain I also suffered frequently from depression. Sometimes I felt that my life was over. I was in pain all of the time – day and night.”

This is the Doctors office that holds the key to reducing and eliminating pain. They are empathetic and work hard to make a good diagnosis and treatment plan. Everything from how I was treated from check in through to the massage therapists. Everyone was so encouraging and kind. And Dr. Erickson is one of the most intelligent and compassionate doctors that I ever known. He always had answers to my questions and solutions for removing my pain. I will forever be grateful to Dr Erickson for giving me my life back.

After 35 years of dismissing chiropractic practices, I found myself at the mercy of Dr. Twombly at Irvine Family Health Center Chiropractic Offices in Irvine. If you can believe it, I was lying on a beach, went to get up, and couldn’t. My husband and kids had to watch me crawl off a beach and writhe in pain. Unable to stand up straight, I was brought to Twombly, who carefully realigned my spine. The pain was almost instantly gone and I walked out of his office, returning for just a few more adjustments. I was sold! He is a miracle worker. I did not have any other back problems until I spent an hour jumping on a trampoline with my kids. I went back to Twombly, admitted to my error in judgement, and he realigned my spine, neck, and feet. When I left his office, I was 70% better. By the next morning, I was 90%. Right now, I am 100%. On top of Dr. Timothy Twombly knowing what he is doing, he has a great bedside manner. He is professional and affirming. Dr. Erickson definitely deserves 5 stars. I mainly see him for running-related problems, but he’s also helped with my occasional back pain. He really knows what he’s talking about and is an expert in Active Release Therapy (ART). I highly recommend him. My insurance doesn’t cover chiropractic care, but $45 per visit isn’t bad, especially since I can really see the results.

After a 20+mph collision on the K1 tracks a week ago, I figured I was good enough to get back into the gym. Nearing the tail of my workout, I felt a sharp pain in my neck and I immediately knew something was wrong. Sure enough, 30 minutes later I couldn’t turn my head in any direction without feeling sharp excruciating pain. When I woke up in the morning and couldn’t get out of bed without assistance I knew I needed help.
Having never been to a chiropractor before, I didn’t really know what to expect. I walked into the office as a walk-in and one of the docs came out and brought me into his office without a second thought. Turns out he wasn’t even on duty that day, just working on some paperwork, but he took the time to listen to my problem. He then phoned in Dr. Parker who came into the office 10 minutes later.
Dr. Parker took his time listening to my symptoms and was always up for small talk, he didn’t rush anything and after my first session I was able to turn my neck left and right without pain.
I went back the next day for a 2nd session and he did some more new adjustments to my neck and back. This was followed by a deep tissue massage (quite painful but worth it). I figured I would go pay at the cashiers after the massage but Dr. Parker called me back into his office. Earlier I had told him that being a post-college graduate I couldn’t afford any more sessions with him. He wanted me to come back in on Friday, with this session on the house. I was very surprised and immediately knew then that the most important focus of this chiropractic office was your treatment. Something I think we all want to find in any doctors we seek, but seldom find.
I just came back from his complementary session and I have full range of motion on my neck again.

Was great, he tried a multitude of different things when I came in for my back problem. And even when he “threw the sink at me” or basically tried everything…he even recommended me to an accupuncturist. Which was a plus.

I have been having neck and back problems for some time now and often times get very bad headaches. He scheduled me for a consultation that very same day to meet with Dr. Twombly and well, I’ve never looked back! Victor manages to work with my schedule to get me in there at the last minute, Daniel is my go to for therapy and thanks to Dr. Twombly, I always leave their office feeling significantly better. I recently got into a car accident and came in to see the chiropractor to help with my neck and back pains. I went in to see Dr. Twombly. Great doctor who really knows his stuff. He’s been at it for quite some time now and is able to explain things in a non-medical/science way so that I could understand.
The staff is great. Very friendly and welcoming.
