From the very first appt I had with Dr Ken, I felt ‘at home’. As a health professional myself, it’s refreshing to not only speak the same language with someone who’s treating you, but to laugh the same humor is a bonus! Few doctors listen, laugh and love like Dr Ken. He has a crystal clear passion for his work and for helping others feel better by attentively exploring the body’s deficiencies and roadblocks through careful analysis of defective movement patterns and musculoskeletal imbalances. He not only ‘adjusts’, he uses Active Release Therapy to maneuver the nerves and muscles into a safe place for the bones to find their way back home to. He’s UNBELIEVABLY humble, in the sense that…I’m an X Pro soccer player and have experienced every kind of injury and trauma possible from ankle tears, to shoulder surgery, concussions and herniations. He’s constantly checking in to see how I feel and suggesting necessary ‘Goldilocks’ treatment – not too much, not too little, but juuuuuust right!
As a current yoga teacher, and yogi of 16 years, I’ve never felt my ‘up dogs’ so free. ie – my back bends are much more open and my body is opening up in ways I could have only dreamed years ago. I’m floating into handstands with ease, my body is doing things I could have only dreamed years ago. I’ve done a combination of spinal decompression (which is how I found Irvine Spine & Sport), massage therapy and adjustments over the past 3 years. And I’ve grown so close with Dr Ken, geeking out on the amazing innate ability of our bodies to heal, that he asked me to be a part of the team, as the in house nutritionist – specifically I’m a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, which means we use advanced labs to explore disfunction and imbalance in the body, from hormones to digestion, unpleasant skin to body pain, auto immune disease to IBS. These are labs not commonly offered by standard doctors, which is no surprise that Dr Ken was inclined to add this service to Irvine & Sports already exceptional level of services, staff and smiles!
I PROMISE you, your experience will be full of smiles and a new appreciation for and awareness of your body.
